Career Advice: Look Who’s Talking

Finding your very first job is easy, but getting just the RIGHT job is easier said than done. First of all, you need to define what the right job is for you. This can be the hardest part, but once you have a mindset on what you really want, the other steps would not be so hard.

Hiring a coach may seem expensive but it could save your family relationships, keep you from saying too much at your workplace and possibly get you onto a new payroll faster.

When you select a mentor or a coach, it is very important that you have to respect the person enough that when they do encourage you, you do believe that they know what they are talking about. You also want to believe them when they warn you to proceed with care.

Avoiding eye contact, face-to-face confrontations and problem-solving (texting or emailing when face-to-face is the most appropriate and expected communication strategy).

What I discovered was that in the beginning I had been promoting myself as a life and life coach in pune and I was doing it like everyone was telling me to do it – every marketer you hear. Whether you’re a coach or a therapist or a plumber or a speaker, it doesn’t really matter. It’s not important what your genre or your field is. What’s important is that we all know to build a business, you have to market.

Company culture. Research the career coach tips culture of your prospective employer. If everyone at the company is 20 to 30 years old, then the firm is not likely to hire an older candidate like you. On the other hand, there are companies that have a reputation for attracting and hiring mature workers. These firms actually like to have “adult supervision,” and they’ll pay a premium for your greater levels of experience and wisdom.

But, I digress…This post is about berry picking and planning so you get what you want. Sound familiar? If you don’t plan your search, you are unlikely to find a job!

Negative feedback can be helpful but if someone continually gives you negative feedback, they may not be the best person to help you. Do you have anyone who is always negative? How might you distance yourself from that person?
